The General Merchandise Support Specialist for Pacific Alaska Wholesale (PAW), the wholesale arm of the North West Company International (NWCI), is responsible to support the business to improve customer service by interfacing with vendors, PAW Operations, logistics, and warehouse team to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment and inventory management. Key Accountabilities:
Process all PAW Customer orders from start to finish
Input customer orders into the purchasing programs
Input POs for customer orders and faxing to vendors
Maintain PAW catalog database
Create new items in the purchasing program (ERP)
Monitor and maintain core GM inventory in the warehouse
Order, reorder and make changes to core items by reviewing assortment and amount on hand
Compile reports to be reviewed by the GM Manager
Perform updates on pricing, margin, lost sales, comparisons after analysis by the Manager
Travel to key product vendors and customer shows as directed by the manager
Assist in looking for new products and vendors at shows put on by vendors
Desired skills & experience:
Ability to operate computer systems and utilize intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, comfortable learning other computer programs and systems
Experience with publishing and graphic software a plus
Ability to type at least 40 WPM
Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management skills and work toward the ability to set own priorities based on workload
Must be able to communicate clearly with all levels of personnel answering questions, asking questions, and responding to requests
High School Diploma or GED. Some college or additional training in business or sales, or accounting a plus
Strong prioritizing and mathematical skills
High attention to detail
Data entry experience a plus
MS Office Suite experience, including above average knowledge of Excel
Working conditions
Fast-paced office environment
Primarily computer work; able to sit/stand in one place for long periods of time and can withstand hours of tedious work in a moderately stressful environment
Must be able to type and ten key for an extended amount of time
Open area office environment with limited personal space
May require some overtime as well as night and weekend work
Ability to travel up to 5% of the year
