As a cashier, you are to accurately record customer transactions of POS equipment, following all laws and company policies. To provide superior customer service at the cash registers, answering customer questions or concerns quickly and professionally. To use suggestive selling techniques that increase sales and profitability. Ensure registers and surrounding areas are neat, clean, and organized.
Operates all Front End equipment properly
Provides helpful, friendly service
Ensures Front End merchandise is filled and fronted
Ensures Front End workstation, scanner, belt, and displays are clean
Follows all loss prevention procedures to reduce controllable shrink at the Front End
Works effectively as a team member by sharing the workload with other associates
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong customer service skills
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or
One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read a limited number of two and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between a series of numbers
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions and deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables
Ability to stand for extended periods; use full mechanics, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
